Welcome back to my blog. 😊

“Annu aj tum kuch banalo khana. Ladkion ko khana banana anaa chahye”; echoed in my ears when I woke up this morning, half eyes opened I nodded. I had no clue what I was going to do with cooking, neither was I sure whether it is going to be a successful attempt.

Chalo aaj karte hain kuch try, I though to myself. I fumbled my phone in the curves of blanket, opened facebook. Searched for a Facebook group “Karachi Chefs at home” (I never knew why I was in that group until today, I thought to myself). Wrote a post and expected 1 thousand plus people to suggest what should I cook for good 8 to 9 people, easy and quick mouth watering recipe. 8 out of 10 women understood by the way of my anxiety struck post that I am one of those papa’s princess who barely goes in the kitchen or if does so, that’s only to make an egg.

Make “daal chawal” and “Qeema” someone said. While others “veggie fried rice and some chicken pieces”. I opened a book wrote the name of my first ever dish that I was about to cook:

Kaali masoor ki daal with Rice, paired up with crispy cheese balls stuff with vegetables and just for add on, Salad to make my table look more presentable.

Stuff veggies cheese balls

I estimated to get done by 3pm, by the time Baba Ali and Omer are back from Jumma prayers, I will be doing final touches.

Called some worker who can get me my desired veggies for stuffed cheese balls, while he went out I searched for some jhat phat yummy recipes of Kaali Masoor ki Daal, but too many options. I got confused. Called my amma to help me choose which one to go with until this jannati woman “Yasmin Huma Khan” youtube channel saved my life. Watched her recipe and decided to follow up with it.

Rushing here and there, all sweaty, some knife cuts, a couple or more burned areas costed me to carrying out a delish Kali Masoor ki Daal and boiled rice along with stuffed vegetable cheese ball.

I estimated my time to be two hours or so but I legitimately took 3 plus hours to finish and decorate my dining table with all three dishes… hmmm took me sometime but it. Was. Worth. It.

Good day at the kitchen, what about you?
