A week back of this month I gave an extremely awkward stare to a Pakistani girl walking past me and called her names but today I feel patriotic and with all excitement wriggling in my nerves I yell at the top of my lungs ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. In the darkest days of the country when each one of us was socially, mentally and physically tortured, I, along with others at a wedding, said that ‘Is mulk ka kuch nahe hosakta’  but today on an Independence Day, I say to die for this country because why not, I’m cool. Throughout the year I fought over political discrimination, killed zillion of sentiments, stayed shut when they were harassing her, stood watching them spit in the middle of a clean road,  with all the might stopped my children to get education and speak for their rights, sent my eldest son abroad to have the best possible education BUT, I BLEED GREEN, I love my country more than anyone else does in the world. Yes, I’m a man to have all the potential to change the color of my blood for 24 hours out of 365 days. I feel proud to do nothing for this nation, but be a part of a manifold to break a record of singing the national anthem while portraying how much love for country runs in my veins instead of ‘Green blood’.  I am a dedicated citizen. I am a Pakistani.
